An Unforgettable Day

My hands were shivering. Beads of perspiration stood on my forehead. “Oh come on, don't waste my time,” said my friend. I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. My friend had beaten me up so badly that I was in great pain.

It all started when I had borrowed fifty dollars from my friend, Rita, last week. I needed the money urgently and she was the only one who had lent me the money. I returned her the money the next day and later on went to a near-by food court for lunch. After lunch, we walked towards the carpark as Rita was driving me back home. I didn't know what got into her but she asked me to return her the thousand dollars that I had borrowed from her, which I didn't.

I got quite scared from the way she was behaving. I kept saying that I didn't borrow thousand dollars from her but she insisted that I borrowed thousand dollars from her and we started arguing. I really got frightened when she started to scream and shout as if she was mad. She pushed me onto the hard carpark floor and it was painful. I tried to scream for help but there was nobody at the carpark at that time. Rita kept saying “Return the thousand dollars! Return the thousand dollars!”

She then snatched my handbag from me and took out all the money from my wallet and started to kick and punch me. I told her to stop but she didn't. By the time she stopped, I was bleeding quite badly. Luckily, at that time a passer-by was in the carpark. He had called the ambulance and the police. Within a few minutes, the ambulance and the police arrived. I was admitted at the hospital and my friend was arrested. The police found out that my friend was suffering from a mental illness and that was what had caused the insane behaviour. I was really sorry for her.

Drug Addict

My hands were shivering. Beads of perspiration stood on my forehead. “Oh, come on, Don’t waste my time,” said the man. I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. He looked at my open mouth and almost threw the drugs into my mouth. I managed to close my mouth in time.

It was my entire fault that I had even set foot out of my house, despite my mother’s warnings. I had wandered through the blocks which were empty as they were going to be demolished. Suddenly, I heard noises. Curiosity got the better of me. I walked towards the noise. There was a group of teenagers with dyed hair. They were injecting themselves and some were swallowing little coloured tablets.

I forced myself to run, but my legs felt like lead. One of them spotted me. I knew I was for it. He roughly pushed me into the room. The gang leader probably, looked me up and down. He growled at me, “You will tell the police…I had better hook you up too.” Now, this time I ran for my life. Jumping down the stairs two at a time, I was relieved that I had escaped. Panting, when I reached the first floor, all I found was facing two scarred faces grinning at me.

I started to run again, and they split up. One of then caught me and…

I snapped back to reality. I had been thinking about the past so much that the man had already thrown the drugs down my mouth. His mouth stretched into a wide grin. I grimaced at all his yellow-stained teeth. Almost immediately, I started shaking uncontrobally and vomiting. Falling onto the rough surface of the ground, I writhered in pain to my death, unless someone found me. But it was too late! I had an overdose of the drugs.

They say your life flashes before you die. Now, I know that it is true. How much I wished that I had stayed at home instead of venturing out. I had found my death by my oneself…

No Drugs!!!

"Bye mom! I'm going for a walk!” I shouted. “I'll come back before dinner!” And I slammed the door. I was going for a stroll in the neighborhood as I was bored at home.

I was looking at the reddish afternoon sky when a sick looking young man went forward to me. He wore a thick woolly jacket and a pair of trousers that were so tattered that I could almost see his whole leg! He has dozens of tattoos all over his body. He has a strange smell from his body and a bad breath. YUCKS! Who will want to be with him? “Hey! Boy, I want to give you something to eat,” the man said to me. I tried to walk away but he pulled me back. He took out something from his pocket and tried to put it in my mouth. The moment I saw it, I realized that it was a drug called Heroine! (I learnt to identify drugs in school.) I tried to run away from his strong grip but couldn't. The man was laughing hysterically and was very scary.

Suddenly, the tables were turned, my friend, Mike, who was walking by saw me and came for my help. Mike learns Karate and has a heart of a lion. It was no wonder why the man ran away a minute after a fight with Mike. “Thanks Pal!” I said to Mike. “It was a pleasure meeting you.”

"Greetings Earthlings!" I shouted. It was a cool and breezy morning and I was out for a walk again. A week has past from that unfaithful event with that insane man and I was sure he was not around anymore. I was walking in the void deck of my HDB building when I saw that man again. “Not him again,” I thought. I tried to threaten him not to touch me or else Mike will beat him up again but he just laughed. His reason for laughing was clear. From out of the blue, came a dozen men walking towards me. I guessed they all took drugs too and were a gang.

I tried to run away but I was no match for bunch of fully grown man. Immediately, I was outrun. Beads of perspiration stood on my head. My whole body was unable to move. My four limbs were held tight. My mouth was forced open and when the drugs almost touched my mouth, the neighborhood police that was patrolling the neighborhood saw me and came to my aid at the nick of time. Saved! I was so happy! The gang of drug addicts was sent to jail and they were never seen again.

After this incident, I still go for strolls as I know there was no more crazy man in the neighborhood anymore…
